At last! Summer vacations are here. Most of you have worked really hard and deserve the best of holidays, congratulations! I truly hope your holidays are unforgettable and full of fun, laughter and sun. For those who need to study, don't give up! A little work won't be so bad and two months are more than enough for everything. Enjoy your holidays, relax and (sorry!!!) read a little bit! We'll meet again in September, suntanned and happy.

International Museum Day

Since 1977, it is celebrated worldwide  the International Museum Day. The theme this year is Museum and Memory. Can you remember the first time you went to a museum, which is your favourite one, or any anecdote related to any?

The last museum I've visited was the British Museum, in London. I enjoyed more that I could have imagined. Here you have some pictures.

Now it's your turn ...

Bioluminescence and sea life

Today we have been speaking a little about sea life and strange (and ugly) animals, and we were all very interested in abyssal creatures. Ready for an Ugly Contest???

Alba, from 3º B, has found these two examples. The first one is a lantern fish
and this is a sea spider. What do you think?

International Children's Book Day

Today, inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's birthday, we celebrate the International Children's Book Day. The main purpose of this celebration is to inspire a love of reading and to call attention to children's books.

Can you remember which were (or maybe still are) your favourite children's books? Share and suggest!

Happy Saint Patrick's Day

May God give you...
For every storm, a rainbow,
For every tear, a smile,
For every care, a promise,

And a blessing in each trial.
For every problem life sends,
A faithful friend to share,
For every sigh, a sweet song,
And an answer for each prayer.

Our Favourites

Here you have a place to share and suggest all your favourites: books, films, music, games...
Let me be the first...

Written by John Boyne in 2006, it tells the story of Bruno, a nine-year-old boy, son of a Nazi Commandant, from his own point of view, during the World War II. Although this is a sadly well known topic, the way in which Boyne describes under Bruno's vision those terrible times, provokes on the reader a new sensation, even stronger than other stories, as you can become, in a few pages, Bruno or Shmuel at Auschwitz. I strongly recommend you this book.

And now, what about a good film? Let me think... One of my favourites (difficult choice because I've got many) is Grease

As you may know, this is a musical set in the last 1950's. Directed by Randal Kleiser, the main protagonists are John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John. This is a great version of the Romeo-and-Juliet-story, happy ending included, full of astonishing music and unforgettable moments. Here you have one. Enjoy it!!!

And, do you like music? One of my favourite things... Again, I find it very difficult to decide. I like so many types, bands and singers, that I don't know how to start. OK... Pearl Jam. This is, in my opinion, one of the best rock-grunge bands ever!
This band was formed in Seattle in 1990 (more or less), and became one of the leading bands inside the grunge movement during the 1990s. Their first album was Ten and since then, the have released 10 albums, including their Greatest Hits. I'd like to share with you one of my favourite songs. Why don't you try to understand the lyrics? By the way, it is based on a real story...
